Jeff Winstead
Senior Vice President Business Development
Jeff has held management positions with increasing levels of responsibility in the healthcare and tissue banking industries for over 10 years. While working with Maxim Healthcare Services, a nationwide medical staffing and homecare company, he oversaw the Joint Commission and Department of Health compliance activities for each office he managed; worked with insurance companies to establish service contracts and to resolve reimbursement issues; and consulted with nursing homes and hospitals on staffing issues.
During his tenure with Coram Healthcare, a nationwide home infusion company, Jeff worked with physicians across many specialties and discharge planners in most hospital departments to deliver services to patients.
After coming to American Red Cross Transplantation Services, he developed a new business model for tissue banks that encompassed the donor procurement aspect as well as allograft tissue distribution. Using this model, he and his team significantly
increased tissue donation and allograft product sales, defying the company’s overall negative trends.
As the Business Development Director for a nationwide, not-for- profit tissue bank, he expanded the scope of this business model. In doing so, he assisted hospitals nationally with supply chain management issues pertaining to allograft tissue products, and consulted with hospitals and their affiliated physicians on utilization and standardization of allograft tissue products to realize substantial cost savings.
